Pokémon × Kogei Exhibition Comes to Hiroshima

The Hiroshima edition of Pokémon × Kogei: Playful Encounters of Pokémon and Japanese Craft, featuring works by Terumasa Ikeda, will open at the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Terumasa Ikeda participates in the exhibition through the traditional techniques of Japanese lacquer and raden, or mother-of-pearl inlay. By bringing together Pokémon, a familiar presence loved by people around the world, with craft techniques passed down over generations, the exhibition offers an opportunity to discover the depth of these materials and techniques, as well as new possibilities for artistic expression.
The year 2026 marks the final year of the exhibition’s domestic tour, and the Hiroshima venue will be its first presentation in the Chugoku and Shikoku region. It is a valuable opportunity for visitors from Hiroshima and throughout the surrounding region to experience a diverse collection of works in which the world of Pokémon meets Japanese craft.
We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition.
