Special Exhibition "Time Residing in Crafts" | Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop | October 14th - November 29th, 2026

Announcement of exhibits for the special exhibition "Time Residing in Crafts"

The artwork will be exhibited at the "Time Residing in Crafts" special exhibition for fiscal year 2026, held at the Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop from Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
This exhibition, themed "Shaping Time," will showcase over 30 works from five fields—ceramics, lacquerware, dyeing, metalwork, and glass—from the collection of the Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop.
This exhibition explores the expression of "time" inherent in crafts through a diverse range of works, including those that capture a fleeting moment in nature, those that convey thoughts of permanence and the environment, and those whose creation process itself, such as firing and layering, embodies a long period of time.
From Akimasa Ikeda's works, "Hyakusen Denno Zu Kabana" (One Hundred Thousand Cybernetic Picture Display Box) will be introduced.
Please come and see for yourself the time etched into the craftworks, and the various forms of "time" that emerge through the materials, techniques, and production processes.
